Old Otliensians RUFC 2nd XV 7 – 43 Goole RUFC 2nd XV

Goole 2nds got off to a strong start to the new season with a convincing 43-7 away win at Old Otliensians.
It finished 7 tries to one with Captain Rob Shand leading the way with a stand out hatrick. He was well supported by a rampant forward pack who were dominant at the set piece and in the loose and a back line who moved the ball quickly and frequently broke the opposition defence. Everyone contributed from 1-19 but upfront Reece Almond, Ollie Mackintosh and veteran David Walton provided the platform for the backs with Jimmy Dougherty and new recruit Luke Beecher always looking sharp going forwards.
A good solid start to the new campaign with a tough away trip to Malton next Saturday.
