Paul Green refereed on this sunny Autumn morning as Goole played against Pocklington at home. Josh Priestley opened the scores with a very swift run to the line. Pocklington then ran into touch and Goole saw the opportunity to score once more with James Kendra passing to Ben Hatton, who ran the length of the pitch and scored a great try. Pocklington then clawed one back. Not wasting any time, Charlie Wilcox passed to Woody Butler to Lucas Walton to Hatton with Butler getting tagged very close to the line. Cole Barker then passed to Wilcox who scored a nifty try for Goole. In the final few minutes of the first half, Priestley and Hatton scored another one each taking Goole to a 5-1 lead.

In the second half, Pocklington made a great start scoring a fast try. James Gibson passed to Joe Green to Edward Crothers to Luke Brigham who weaved in and out of the opposition scoring one back for Goole. Frankie Read, James Ward, Lewis Vollans and Sam Wood displayed great tagging skills with Wood gaining possession and having some great runs with the ball. With the gap closing, Green scored a try for the home team, levelling the score.

Goole v Pocklington 4-6

Pocklington opened this game with some excellent passing skills forcing Goole to up their defence with Brigham, Wood, Hatton and Wilcox displaying strong tagging skills. Hatton and Wilcox used their strategy to work the game to their advantage, getting nearer to the line. However the ball went into touch, allowing Pocklington the chance to score. Kendra passed to Wood to Butler to Priestley, who weaved in and out of the away team and passed to Cole Barker who scored a tremendous try for Goole. Once Goole had the ball, Jake Rawlings made a run for it, but Pocklington were quick to tag and this resulted in them scoring one more, taking the half time score to 1-2.

Vollans opened up the second half of the match with Goole demonstrating good passing skills with Rawlings, Read and James Ward passing to Walton, giving him the opportunity to wriggle his way passed the opposition, however Goole ran into touch and Pocklington took a fast run to their line, scoring a great try. Read had a great sideways run and scored for Goole. Butler passed to Priestley but Pocklington stole possession and scored again. Gibson gained control of the ball and scored his first ever try for Goole. With Priestley in the thick of the game and showing good tagging skills, he scored the final try for Goole. Green, Butler, Walton and Priestley tried to keep up the pressure, but Pocklington stole the nail biting match.
